Jonathan Appleton
Executive Director
After graduating from University in Sheffield, Jonathan followed an IT career in the finance sector, eventually becoming IT Manager for a number of financial businesses in the Midlands, from there Jonathan noticed a gap in the market, which was simply “to provide good IT support and consultancy with great customer service”. In the late 90’s he founded Somerbys IT alongside its sister company Somerbys Chartered Accountants. Jonathan’s recipe for a successful IT business is to use only three simple ingredients, “great customer service, outstanding staff and the use of leading technology”, the perfect recipe! In his spare time, Jonathan likes to keep fit, is a keen golfer and a superb healthy cook – someone who definitely likes his greens!
Allan Page
Managing Director
Allan Page is now Managing Director of Somerbys IT Limited, having started with the company as "IT Assistant" back in 2000. Knowledgeable in all areas of IT, specialising in the installation and configuration of servers and networks with a key emphasis on core Microsoft products and technologies. Furthermore, Allan is instrumental in the ongoing research and testing of the latest software and technologies. With the help of his team, Allan ensured that Somerbys IT was awarded Microsoft Gold Partner status. Allan, whilst not as young as he once was, still enjoys going out partying at weekends and is a keen motor sport fan; during an extended vacation to Australia and the Far East he managed to take in the inaugural Singapore Grand Prix.
Andrew West FCA
Finance Director
Andrew is an integral part of the management team at Somerbys IT; providing key financial and business strategy advice. He is also one of the founders of its sister company, Somerbys Chartered Accountants. Having trained with a national accountancy firm, he qualified as an accountant in 1976 and then spent several years gaining experience with listed companies and generally “moving up the ladder” before relocating back to Leicestershire as a partner in a local accountancy practice. Andrew now thrives in a boardroom environment, looking for ways in which he can move businesses forward. Outside of work he has a passion for fine food and wines and is a keen supporter of the countryside.
Martin Jinks FCA
Director
Martin, along with Andrew West and Jonathan Appleton, is one of the founding directors of the Somerbys Group; he brings fundamental financial and business strategy guidance to the management team at Somerbys IT. Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a local accountancy firm in 1986 he then spent the next seven years living and working in Bermuda; initially on an auditing contract with a multi-national firm and then in industry as Financial Director. In 1993 he returned to the UK and in 1995 joined Andrew West in business. Martin, who is married with two children, spends too much of his spare time participating in and watching a variety of sporting activities, his main passion being Rugby Union. He is also known for teasing the female members of his staff and was once heard to refuse an invitation to the pub!
